Making a Difference, One Family at a Time

As part of our ongoing #EmeraldCares initiative, the EmeraldCube team gathered this past week at the Action Ministries Food Bank in Atlanta, GA. Embarking on 4 years of service in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, EmeraldCube strives to make a difference in the local community, one family at a time.

Action Ministries is non-profit organization with a mission to mobilize metro Atlanta communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing and education. From 2012 to 2015, more than 50,800 volunteers donated 206,000 hours with the organization. In the greater Atlanta area, hunger relief by Action Ministries continues to be a key focus with 2,142,626 meals served, representing a market value of $11,784,443.

During the morning of service, the EmeraldCube team sorted and packed 500 “SuperPacks” consisting of non-perishable food items donated by Publix. The SuperPacks are distributed to families throughout the Greater Atlanta metro, relieving people of the burden of searching for their next meal, enabling them to shift their focus from daily survival to finding a lasting means of supporting themselves and their families.

It was a very productive and fulfilling morning, gathering to give back to the local community! A special thank you to the United Way of Greater Atlanta and Action Ministries for making the morning possible.
